Set up in 2019 by Prime Minister Édouard Philippe, the SNS (Universal National Service) is aimed at all young French people, girls and boys, aged 15 to 17, with the aim of promoting a society of built engagement. around national cohesion.
300 young volunteers from the region in Haute-Loire, next summer
The 2022 campaign has been launched since November 8 with registration possible until January 5 for the February cohesion stay and until March 31 for those in June and July. The SDJES (Departmental Service for Youth, Engagement and Sports) Haute-Loire must constitute a cohort of 195 volunteers from Altiligérien: 20 for the February stay in Auvergne-Rhône Alpes (from February 13 to 25) and 175 on stays in June (from June 12 to 24) and July (from July 3 to 15).
Even if the health context slows down mobilization, the school environment (public, private and agricultural) remains the main contributor. “Everyone must be able to try the adventure of the SNU, why not young apprentices, dropouts or those benefiting from support by the local Missions”, explains Valérie Fayolle-Gueye, head of the youth and education pole of the SDJES who, at the same time , is preparing to welcome between 250 and 300 young volunteers from the 11 other departments of the region during two summer stays, undoubtedly in Yssingeaux and Puy-en-Velay. This was already the case last summer in the city of the Five Roosters.
The route includes three stages. At the end of the 12-day cohesion stay, these young people must complete an 84-hour or 12-day MIG (General Interest Mission) with an association or a local community. The 2021 cohort amounted to 109 volunteers: they have by the end of June 2022 to carry out this mission near their home and in a field that they have chosen. Whether with the elderly, in an association, a town hall or with the cadets of the gendarmerie. The missions are diverse and take up the themes covered during the stay: citizenship, environment, solidarity… The last step, a commitment lasting three months or more before the age of 25, is optional.
