” With I unexplored, I was shooting stunts that are way bigger than anything I’ve done before,” Holland said in a featurette of the airplane scene. “Sometimes I’d be 100 feet in the air, strapped to a spinning box, and then I’d hang on until it knocked me off balance. And it was really scary, but I think that level of fear makes that scene even more authentic… It’s the hardest action sequence I’ve ever done. »

Ruben Fleischer conducts I unexplored using a screenplay by Rafe Lee Judkins, Art Marcum and Matt Holloway; Judkins crafted the story with Jon Hanley Rosenberg and Mark D. Walker. The film stars Tom Holland, Mark Wahlberg, Sophia Ali, Tati Gabrielle and Antonio Banderas. It is based on the video game series of the same name. You can read the official synopsis below.

“The resourceful Nathan Drake (Tom Holland) is recruited by seasoned treasure hunter Victor ‘Sully’ Sullivan (Mark Wahlberg) to recover a fortune amassed by Ferdinand Magellan and lost 500 years ago by House Moncada. What begins as a heist as the duo becomes a race of white-handed globetrotters to win the prize before the ruthless Santiago Moncada (Antonio Banderas), who believes he and his family are the rightful heirs. If Nate and Sully can decipher the clues and solve one of the world’s oldest mysteries, they could find a $5 billion treasure and maybe even Nate’s long-lost brother…but only if they can learn to work together. »

Sony Pictures release

I unexplored has been hugely popular with gamers for many years, and Hollywood has been trying to get the ball rolling on a movie adaptation for many years. What it ultimately took was Tom Holland pitching an idea to Sony for a young James Bond movie. This story didn’t sit well with Sony, but it got them thinking about casting Holland as young Nathan Drake. With his I unexplored casting in place, the project was finally able to materialize. Oddly enough, Mark Wahlberg was at one point in talks to play Nathan Drake in an earlier version of the project that never got made.

I unexplored is set to hit UK theaters on February 11, followed by a US theatrical release on February 18.
