Revealed through the 3d patents of the definitive version of the bike, the Yamaha Ténéré 700 World Raid was officially presented by Yamaha a few hours ago. The opportunity to confirm that the Japanese adventurer gains a double tank of 23 liters (16 liters for the standard version), giving it increased autonomy while keeping the center of gravity of the bike at the same level thanks to a lower position.
Much more than a better equipped version of the standard Ténéré 700, the World Raid offers many small modifications that make a big difference, both on road and offroad, the privileged playground of Japanese trail running.
Based on the 689cc CP2 twin-cylinder engine, the same as the star of the Yamaha catalog, the MT-07, the Ténéré 700 World Raid also features a flatter saddle with a slight split between the front and rear. The rear part can also be easily removed to install a top box or a simple rack instead.
Adventurer ambition obliges, the Yamaha Tenere 700 World Raid also offers more protections. 15 mm taller screen, removable side deflectors, three-part aluminum engine guards, new radiator grille, air filter housing with revised intake duct to prevent the entry of dust or small debris, are all new features present on the World Raid version.
That’s not all since the suspensions have also been revised with, in particular, a new 43 mm KYB fork which offers 20 mm more travel (230 mm).
At the rear, there is an adjusted shock absorber with a travel of 220 mm, while we note the presence of an Öhlins steering damper adjustable on eighteen different levels.
The new Ténéré 700 World Raid is also equipped with three-mode ABS, adjustable when stationary, via a menu available on the speedometer, controlled by the right comodo. If mode 1 corresponds to the total activation of the ABS, mode 2, a new function designed for the Ténéré 700 World Raid, corresponds to the activation of the ABS only on the front wheel, while mode 3 corresponds to total deactivation, ideal for fully enjoying the bike off-road.
As previewed on the patents a few days ago, the Ténéré 700 World Raid is equipped with a 5-inch color TFT screen with the possibility of connecting the motorcycle to your smartphone via the MyRide app.
Manufactured in Saint-Quentin, Aisne, at the Yamaha-MBK factory, the Yamaha Ténéré 700 World Raid (available in blue and black) will arrive in dealerships from May at a price of 12,799 €, which is €2,600 more than the standard version of the Japanese trail.
