Sortlist: the Madrid adventure of Célia Denouette

Graduated with a master’s degree in international management and experienced in the workings of marketing, the native of Séverac-d’Aveyron joined the team of a promising Belgian start-up in Madrid. The beginning of a blood and gold adventure for a young woman convinced of the invaluable virtue of encounters.

I am at home in Madrid. After Aveyron, this is my second home!” Based in the Spanish capital for three years, Célia Denouette is a fulfilled young woman.

From the height of her 26 years, she confirms: “I do not see myself living anywhere else. I arrived here for an internship in a city that I did not know. But I was very quickly won over by the beauty of the place, the dynamism, the pace of life, the kindness of the people. When you have low expectations of a city, you are often pleasantly surprised. This is my case.”

Account manager at Sortlist – account manager for a platform that connects brands and marketing agencies – the Sévéragaise found everything she was looking for in the Spanish offices of the Belgian start-up.

“I hesitated for a long time between tourism and trade”, asks Célia. Common point between the two: “the desire to travel, to meet the world. To exchange daily with all cultures. It’s a real wealth!” A bubbling that very early gave him desires elsewhere. A year in Erasmus, in Stocklom in Sweden, will end up convincing her. “All of this gave me the taste for leaving and comforted me in my choice of life.”

Today at ease in the Madrid branch of the Belgian nugget, Célia puts her dynamism at the service of her clients. Mostly SMEs, Spanish, who are looking on Sortlist for marketing agencies able to best meet their needs.

“Sortlist is a platform where the majority of marketing agencies are referenced. A bit like Booking with hotels, but with a more pronounced human side, laughs the Aveyronnaise who continues. My clients want to create a website, imagine a digital strategy, work on press relations… My role is to direct them to an agency that will best meet their needs.”

Between artificial intelligence and “listening teams”, the company, quickly dubbed the “Tinder of marketing”, is shaking up a market that has been purring for a very long time. Launched in 2014 in Brussels, Sortlist is present in five European countries – including France, its main market – as well as in the Netherlands, Germany and Spain.

In full “acceleration of growth” linked in particular to the Covid and after a third fundraising of 11 million euros, the platform is now targeting the American market. The Belgian nugget plans to settle in the United States in 2022 and should hire more than a hundred people to reach the milestone of 200 employees within 2 to 3 years.

“Sortlist is a truly dynamic company. I enjoy it here,” confirms Célia, who is not yet finished with her “Madrid adventure.”
