Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, published by 505 Games and developed by Koji Igarashi’s ArtPlay studio, meets Ubisoft’s Child of Light universe in a free update available March 31 at 7:00 p.m. on Playstation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and on PC via Steam and GOG. On Nintendo Switch, this update will arrive later.
Miriam this is not his first encounter with characters from other video game franchises. After wearing the armor of Shovel Knightrode in the dead lands of Kingdom Two Crownsfaced the horrors of Blasphemous and made an appearance in Mighty Fight Federation, she now leaves Aurora, the heroine of Child of Lightexplore Hellhold Castle.
After saving Lemuria on her own adventure, Aurora isn’t ready to return home anytime soon, as she wakes up in demon-infested lands. If she wants to find her friends, she will have no choice but to overcome the curse of Hellhold, in an all-new adventure full of poetry inspired by Child of Light.
By selecting Aurora from the main menu, players will discover Bloodstained in a whole new light with the princess’ unique moves and abilities. Able to wield a devastating Ray of Light decimating enemies in its path, this elemental damage will contribute to living the adventure differently. As you evolve, new abilities will become available to players. It will thus be possible to recover wings to fly, to become an adult to swim underwater or to put on armor to face deadly spike traps.
Igniculus, Aurora’s faithful firefly, helps her by healing her, casting spells on opponents, and providing her with useful passive bonuses. As battle progresses, Igniculus will also accumulate experience, improving his abilities and allowing him to use more powerful spells, more often.
Although Aurora does not have Miriam’s Crystallizer abilities, she can use the shards to enhance her powers and gain access to active or passive bonuses. Each of these fragments represents one of her friends, and each will have a unique power, helping Aurora on her adventure. Johannes, Miriam’s friend, will also lend her a hand by helping her improve her skills through alchemy or items found in chests and on defeated enemies.
