The first scooter developed in an SUV style, the Honda ADV 750 is increasingly being emulated on the scooter market. After Honda, which extends its offer with a brand new ADV 350 scooter, the Kymco DTX 360 range, or the recently presented Aprilia SR-GT (available in 125 and 200 versions), the next adventure scooter could be the work of Peugeot Motocycles.
Peugeot Motorcycle, now owned by the Indian giant Mahindra, has filed patents to design an SUV scooter around the 400 cc engine of the Metropolis. According to the first images, which we hope are not definitive concerning the location of the exhaust, the engine and the transmission thus appear identical to the three-wheeled scooter.
With 35.6 horsepower for a maximum torque of 38.1 Nm at 5,750 rpm, for a weight certainly revised downwards by the abandonment of the heavy front suspension in favor of a more conventional suspension, the ADV scooter signed Peugeot could well become a serious competitor on the market.
In the blur with the case opposing it to Piaggiofollowing accusations of plagiarism for which Peugeot has also been convicted in France and Italy, the lion brand could soon offer its version of the adventure scooter, a segment that seems to be booming.
