For its first year of operation, the tree climbing park ” Guerledan adventure park” has filled up.
Consideration of this enthusiasmcertain “blockages” have formed in certain activities: “we noticed that there were sometimes, in the pathsfrom blockages which slow down the use of the site on the most delicate sectors: people who hesitate, which lead to slowdowns”.
Four new courses
And it is for this reason that this year winter has been put to good use by the company Escapade Verticale, from Redon, and by the personnel of the departmental base of Guerlédan, who have put their hands in the dough, to put up four new routes. This is confirmed by Gaël Le Gloannec, director of the base:
“We now offer a second yellow course with zip line for 4-6 year olds; a second orange course accessible from 7 years old, but which is located lower, in order to avoid blockages from people who would be afraid on the higher courses.
Finally, we have created a much more complicated, more physical and technical black course for the more athletic.
A total of 11 courses are now accessible.
The major asset
In addition to these new features, a lot of work has been done on the site: “we have put wood chips on all the paths in order to fight against the harmful effects of trampling and to protect our trees”. Because here, we are perfectly aware that the major asset of the site is its environment. Built entirely in the forest (the Bois de Cornec) with courses dominating the superb site of Guerledan Lakeit is without doubt one of the most interesting, wooded and beautiful tree climbing sites of all that currently exist in West of France.
Rates unchanged
The site employs three permanent staff in addition to the base sports instructors, and three seasonal hires are planned for this summer.
Prices remain unchanged from last year: €10 for 4-6 year olds, €17 for 7-12 year olds; €20 for 13 years and over, no time limit: if you want to spend the day there, the price remains the same.
The site, currently used by schools, will be open to the public from April 9, during all April holidays, from 2 to 7 p.m. Then, it will be open to the public every afternoon every weekend until the end of June, as well as on public holidays (the morning is reserved for groups).
