Gourdon. A great adventure in the service of Perce-Neige

They often come to Gourdon, but their destination each time is the Maison Perce-Neige. Exceptionally this Saturday, Robert Perrin and his wife, founders of the Aventura association, had settled in the Gourdon market, despite the harsh cold that was raging. But nothing can stop this couple and the members of the association, all dedicated to helping the residents of Perce-Neige Gourdon.

Here is the story of a beautiful human adventure. Robert’s first contact with Perce-Neige took place in 1965, he was 7 years old when he saw on television the serious face of a man talking about his handicapped little girl. “This memory is still present, I did not know the immense actor that Lino Ventura was, says Robert. But I was overwhelmed by his sadness, we felt him both strong and fragile when speaking modestly of his different child. , his difficulties, his desire to change things. So, for me, it became obvious: I had to help him.”

For years, Robert sent donations to the association. Then in 2007, he responded to a questionnaire sent by Perce-Neige to its donors. He expressed the wish to visit a Maison Perce-Neige. Two years later, it’s done, he is invited to the inauguration of that of Gourdon.

Accomplished sportsman and president of a football club, Robert then decides to do everything to help the disabled residents of this house. He participates in the 50 km of Belvès wearing the colors of Perce-Neige, sells T-shirts in the markets and organizes musical evenings. His action growing, he created the Aventura de Gourdon association in 2010, to ensure the logistics of all the events taking place each year from March to November: foot races, song evenings, market sales, fishing day…

Robert’s enthusiasm and dynamism are contagious and many people of goodwill rally around his action, especially since the residents of Gourdon are invited to participate in all the events. Very strong ties have been forged over the years.

Robert adds: “The volunteers who join us say they are delighted to be in direct contact with the residents. This is a great strength for us, because as Lino Ventura said, their happiness is our reward.”
